Can you imagine that God almighty, the creator, Elohim came down from Heaven to Earth and what’s more, took on the form of a man (that he designed and implemented)? What a sight it was! Most people though, did not recognize him. Most though threw his words behind their backs, because reason as it was, why now should things change after they have been the same for so long? Why now?
Let’s explore a bit deeper… The prophets prophesied of him since Abraham, then Moses. Isaiah, Daniel, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and practically every Old Testament book in the Bible! Then came Malachi, 400 years of nothing. So let me ask the question again, why now after so long should I believe God for something, anything?
I have good news! He came, He saw, and He conquered! Glory to Jesus! And he saith unto them, Follow — me, and I will make you fishers of men.
Matthew 4:19
Jesus is still doing the same thing today. He hasn’t changed his method. He is still calling people, meeting them where they are at. In the context of this verse, Jesus on mission, went to Peter and he needed a miracle. The miracle was a transfer of Kingdom wealth into the bank account of Earth. Jesus called unto Peter to follow him after Jesus performed the miracle. Is God calling you to follow him today?
So, here is the word of God- Jesus (Jn. 1:1) manifested in the flesh and the word spoke and produced all Peter’s need. Then the word called Peter to follow him. Do you see that? If you stay in the word, He will speak. Next, the word saysI will make you…. Do you see that?
I learned this principle decades ago and it set me free from striving to be all that I can be for the lord in my own strength. Many Christians live and die without this knowledge. We do not have to struggle, we simply need to follow, and the word provides everything else.
I will make you says the Lord! I’ll do it. You do not need to concern yourself with all the detail as I have already thought things through AND made all the provision you need to follow me. What I need from you is to rest. Then learn from me. I need you to learn my voice, to know my word. The last thing I need from you is you heart and be willing to follow my lead.
Because I know that obedience born out of obligation only results in frustration, guilt, and shame. On the same level, obedience born out of love results in my peace. I leave you with the choice, says the Lord.
This is powerful! I have been using this principle for decades now and of course, from time to time, I miss it too. We do not concern ourselves with missing it, we simply cry out to Jesus let him pick us up again. And pick up where we last left off. It’s that simple.
Try it. Make this a daily thought and meditation of your heart. Before you know it, you’ll be getting the hang of it and your life broadcasting it far and abroad.
Until the next time, I pray these words brought some comfort to you as they have me. Blessings!
